OWNER/PSYCHIATRIST

Dr. DuRant is a native of Columbia, SC. He attended the University of South Carolina for undergraduate and medical school. He completed his adult psychiatric training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He received extensive training in psychopharmacology as well as psychotherapy including supportive psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.

Dr. DuRant then completed his child and adolescent fellowship at the LSU Health Sciences Center where he served as chief resident. He gained experience in a vast array of therapies in working with children, adolescents and their families. He has specific interests in family systems therapy. He also gained experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy and infant psychiatry.

After completing his training, Dr. DuRant returned to Charleston and entered into private practice. He is board certified in adult psychiatry and a member of the American Psychiatric Association as well as the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

LAUREN MCELVEEN, PA-C

Lauren B McElveen, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Florence, South Carolina. She then went back to Florida and graduated from the University of Florida (UF) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science in 2020. Go Gators!! After that, she moved to Charleston to attend the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and received her Physician Assistant degree. Lauren treats a variety of psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, Bipolar disorders, Women’s mental health, and other mental illnesses. She works with adults, adolescents, and children and enjoys having the ability to see positive impacts on their lives through medication management and supportive therapy. Lauren is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the South Carolina Society of Physician Assistants (SCAPA). Lauren lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband, William, and their goofy yellow Lab, Goose. She is proud to be a PA and is looking forward to serving the Charleston community.


Graysen Brewer - MA, LPC-A

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

Graysen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. While studying for her bachelors degree at Coastal Carolina University, she worked as registered behavior technician with children diagnosed with Autism & their families. She earned her Masters degree in Psychology, Clinical Counseling from The Citadel Graduate College. While studying for her masters, she began working as a receptionist at Lowcountry Psychiatric Group. Immediately, she knew she wanted a permanent place with the practice because of their mentorship, experience, & insight each clinician was eager to provide. 

She completed her clinical experiences through Barrier Islands Addiction Medicine & Psychiatry and the Couple & Family Clinic at the Ralph Johnson VA Hospital. She worked along side individuals, couples, & families overcoming, traumatic and stressful life experiences.

HANNAH STEWERT- MA, LMFT-a

LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY ASSOCIATE

Hannah is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Lowcountry Psychiatric Group, just months away from earning her licensure. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boise State University, where she also earned a certificate as a Habilitation Intervention Specialist.

Her work as a Habilitation Intervention Specialist, closely collaborating with families and children with developmental disabilities, fueled her passion for advanced studies in family therapy. Hannah is dedicated to helping families navigate their unique challenges, especially those with children with disabilities.

Hannah specializes in supporting autistic teens and young adults, aiding them in developing social skills, emotional awareness, and coping strategies for sensory sensitivities. Her goal is to empower individuals to build meaningful connections and confidently navigate their world. Additionally, she works with individuals of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, parenting challenges, chronic illness or disability-related family stress, self-esteem and identity issues, stress management, and challenging life transitions.
